These systems are increasingly critical in commercial buildings and often require coordination across trades. \nTopics covered in this class include: \n\nWhat is considered a special system?\nCommon systems covered:\n\nFire Alarm Systems\nSecurity (CCTV\, card access\, intrusion detection)\nData/Telecom (structured cabling\, fiber\, server rooms)\nAudio/Visual (PA systems\, digital signage\, conference setups)\nBuilding Automation Systems (BAS)\nNurse call\, intercoms\, and paging (in healthcare or education)\n\n\n\nThe Plan Reading series consists of these sessions: \n\nOverview and Introduction\, 5/7\nCivil Plans\, 5/22\nStructural Plans\, 6/5\nArchitectural Plans\, 6/18\nM&P Plans\, 7/8\nElectrical Plans\, 8/5\nSpecial Systems\, 8/19\n\nIt is recommended to participate in the all Plan Reading classes for the more thorough introduction to plan reading.
