DESCRIPTION:This Academy session provides attendees with the knowledge to interpret drawings that show how a commercial building stands up—the skeleton of the structure. \nAttendees will learn: \n\nThe purpose and types of structural plans\nHow to understand structural symbols\, notes\, and line types (“reading the code”)\nFoundation plans and footing layouts\nStructural framing plans\nSections\, elevations\, and structural details\nHow to read structural schedules\nHow to coordinate with other trades\n\n  \nThe Plan Reading series consists of these sessions: \n\nOverview and Introduction\, 10/28/25\nCivil Plans\, 11/18/25\nStructural Plans\, 12/4/25\nArchitectural Plans\, 1/6/26\nMechanical Plans\, 1/27/26\nPlumbing Plans\, 2/17/26\nElectrical Plans\, 3/10/26\nSpecial Systems\, 3/31/26\n\n  \nIt is recommended to participate in all Plan Reading classes in-person. If attending virtually\, you will miss the hands-on activities in this session. \nIf attending virtually\, a link will be sent to you a few days prior to the session.
