Overview and Introduction to Reading Construction Plans

In the first session in the Plan Reading series, attendees will walk away with a solid foundation for interpreting and working with construction drawings.

Topics for this first session include:
  • introduction to the general sheets,
  • instructions on how to read a plan,
  • terminology, symbols and abbreviations,
  • understanding scale and dimension,
  • details and callouts,
  • and much more.

The Plan Reading series consists of these sessions:
  1. Overview and Introduction to Reading Construction Plans, 5/7
  2. Civil Plans, 5/22
  3. Structural Plans, 6/5
  4. Architectural Plans, 6/18
  5. M&P Plans, 7/8
  6. Electrical Plans, 8/5
  7. Special Systems, 8/19

It is recommended to participate in the all Plan Reading classes for the more thorough introduction to plan reading.
If attending via Zoom, you will miss some of the hands-on activities in the class.
A Zoom link will be sent a few days prior to the sessions. Please keep your camera on for maximum engagement.
