Plumbing Plan Reading

This Academy session teaches attendees how to read and interpret the systems that provide water supply and drainage throughout a building.

Attendees will learn:

• How plumbing systems are designed and routed

• How to ensure functionality, code compliance, and coordination with other trades

• How to guide installation of piping and fixtures

• The types of plumbing drawings, including:

  • Plumbing floor plans

  • Riser diagrams

  • Details and schedules

The Plan Reading series consists of these sessions:

1. 1. 1. Overview and Introduction – 5/19/26

      2. Structural Plans – 6/4/26

      3. Civil Plans – 7/14/26

      4. Architectural Plans – 8/11/26

      5. Mechanical Plans – 9/8/26

      6. Plumbing Plans – 10/20/26

      7. Electrical Plans – 11/10/26

      8. Special Systems – 12/15/26

It is recommended to participate in all Plan Reading classes in-person. If attending virtually, you will miss the hands-on activities in this session.
