In this Mechanical & Plumbing (M&P) Plan Reading class, attendees will learn how to read and interpret the systems that provide heating, cooling, ventilation, water supply, and drainage throughout the building.
In this class, attendees review the important aspects of reading M&P plans:
- Show how mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing systems are designed and routed
- Ensure functionality, code compliance, and coordination with other trades
- Guide installation of ductwork, equipment, piping, and fixtures
- Types of M&P Drawings
- Mechanical Floor Plans – HVAC duct layouts, equipment locations
- Plumbing Floor Plans – piping for water supply, sanitary, and storm drainage
- Riser Diagrams – vertical routing of pipes or ducts through floors
- Details and Schedules – specifications for equipment and fixtures

It is recommended to participate in the all Plan Reading classes for the more thorough introduction to plan reading.If attending via Zoom, you will miss some of the hands-on activities in the class.
